New England Country Day School
School Age Program
New England Country Day School's School Age Program provides opportunities for creative, recreational, and restful activities as is appropriate to meet the needs of the individual school age child. The School Age Program is available five days per week to children five to ten years of age. The Program operates daily from 3:30pm - 6:00pm. School age children arrive from public and private school by bus between 3:30pm - 4:00pm. The School Age Program can also accommodate children on days of early dismissals, early closings, and vacation days (excluding the week of 12/25 - 12/31) with prior approval and at an additional cost.
The School age Program offers activities that assure opportunities for accomplishment, self-satisfaction, and an understanding of socially acceptable behavior. These experiences enhance the child's self esteem in a positive, age appropriate manner. The school age child has a high energy level that needs positive outlets. The activities do not duplicate the academic activities programmed during the child's regular school day. Opportunities for action-oriented, group-oriented and solitary play are made available in addition to creative activities, enrichment opportunities and snack. Activities are not always teacher directed. The guidance offered is not overwhelming but is positive and loving. If homework needs to be done by any child, parents should request that time be set aside for homework. Guidance is offered: however, tutoring is not provided.
The following program schedule is offered 5 days per week only:
